The
Federal Marketing Alliance (FMA) was established in 1998 to assist
small and medium sized companies in their efforts to overcome the
many procedures, rules, and procurement regulations that exist throughout
the Federal Government. For those companies with limited resources,
the FMA created the "Alliance" to provide direction and resources
to enable its members to become more effective in penetrating the
government marketplace. The FMA offers only a select number of companies
per product offering the opportunity to join the Alliance. Membership
is $2,500 a year and can be paid semi-annually.
·
Perform an initial screening of each applicant and provide a written
Federal Market Assessment
As part of the initial application fee, the
Alliance reviews any existing government contracts or sub-contracts,
collateral material and capability statements provided by the prospective
member to determine their most marketable technology, product or service
and the area(s) in which they would most likely be successful in competing
for government procurements.
·
Inform Members of prospective solicitations
The FMA maintains contacts in many procurement
offices which solicit or have a need to solicit technology, products
or services analogous to those available from Alliance members. The
Alliance will monitor various acquisition databases and provide information
on contacts in order for members to obtain relevant RFI's and RFP's.
In short, we qualify all potential opportunities identified with the
appropriate contract officer or program manager prior to forwarding
it to the member.
·
Provide expert advice on contracting issues
Through short telephone calls, direct e-mail
messaging and other electronic media, the Alliance provides general
Q&A-type responses to member requests or questions. Additionally,
the FMA provides more specific expert advice, at an hourly rate, on
more complex issues.
·
Monitor set-asides
The Alliance will monitor any set-asides or
special programs, which might benefit Alliance members in the competitive
process. (Disadvantaged Businesses, Minority/Women Owned Businesses,
etc.)
·When
ever possible, the Alliance will promote its members to key government
decision-makers
The FMA is constantly meeting with key decision-makers
in government and always takes the opportunity to introduce appropriate
Alliance members to them. When that introduction is completed, members
will receive a brief contact report and appropriate contact information
to follow up on this introduction.
· The Alliance can provide "seamless" post-award
management, accounting and project management
Successful offerors from the Alliance can request
that the Alliance manage Federal and state awards on their behalf
to ensure compliance with legislative, contractual, and performance
issues.
·
The Alliance can be instrumental in creating and coordinating "Teaming"
Arrangements
Teaming arrangements can be facilitated by the
Alliance whether the Alliance is searching for additional participants
to complete a viable team or responding to requests from an Alliance
Partner.
·The Alliance can be
instrumental in providing working capital upon winning a government
contract
The FMA has partnered with a privately held
finance company that specializes in assisting government contractors
with their working capital requirements. Because of their rather unique
niche, they may be of assistance where banks and other finance venues
cannot. |
